Lotus warehouse, we have completed the SLCP process!
We have already met the expectations of our customers by participating in the program, which we think will emerge as a necessity in the future.
Joint venture for audit: SLCP
In order to find a solution to this problem, which is defined as 'Audit Fatigue/Frustration', leading global brands came together and decided to use resources jointly and effectively, and SLCP (Social & Labor Convergence Project) emerged.
How is the industry's interest in this initiative?
More than 180 stakeholders have signed the principles of SLCP. There is participation from almost every part of the apparel and footwear industries. In addition, audit firms, social organizations, multi-stakeholder initiatives, industry associations, national governments and intergovernmental organizations are among us. There was a considerable active participation in the Program from Turkish producers and associations.
WHO ARE THE STAKEHOLDERS?
• The number of members, consisting of buyers such as Adidas, Nike, Inditex, H&M, Aldo, Target, industry associations, manufacturers and independent auditing organizations such as Bureau Veritas, has approached 200.
• ILO and OECD are among the observers. ITC (International Trade Center), which is a part of the United Nations, is also part of the project. ITMF also supports it institutionally.
What is SLCP's mission?
The goal of the SLCP is to improve social and working conditions by reducing the number of social and labor inspections. This avoids audit fatigue, allows data to be compared, and provides resources for remediation programs.
How is this mission accomplished?
By implementing a Unified Framework of Evaluation (CAF) for social and employment data collection that can replace all existing audit methods. CAF; consists of a Data Collection Tool and verification method: these are used together as a tool to obtain a set of verified data on social and working conditions at facilities that they can share with the facility's business relationships, including brands and standards. No additional data collection (audit) is required.
Like this:
one). Facility resources previously spent on compliance audits can be directed towards improving social and working conditions.
2nd). There is greater opportunity to compare social and study data to better formulate and implement improvement programs.
